9 TO 12 MONTHS

  • Announce Engagement
  • Select Wedding Date
  • Hire a wedding planner and event coordinator, or research vendors
  • Determine the type of wedding: location, theme, # of guests, formality, time of day
  • Determine the budget and how expenses will be shared
  • Buy a binder to keep track of appointments & events
  • Develop a record-keeping system for payments
  • Create an approximate number of the guest list
  • Decide if you will be inviting children or not
  • Select and reserve the ceremony site
  • Select and book CineCrown for wedding Photography & Filmmaking
  • Select and book the reception venue location
  • Select and order bridal gown
  • Determine wedding THEME – choose colors, shapes, elements, periods, concept
  • If the ceremony or reception is at a home, arrange for home improvements
  • Obtain passports, visas, birth certificates, and any documents needed for travel and/or marriage licenses. Make sure to register.

6 TO 9 MONTHS

  • Select and book a caterer, if needed
  • Select and book Officiant (Minister, Priest, Rabbi, other)
  • Select the wedding party
  • Give the wedding party a list of their responsibilities
  • Select and buy attire for bridesmaids and flower girl
  • Select and buy attire for the mothers of the bride & groom
  • Select and book ceremony musicians – flute, guitar, harp, or violin
  • Select and book a live band or DJ for the reception
  • Select and book a florist
  • Register for your wedding gifts (this can be done sooner)
  • Set a date for your engagement shoot with CineCrown

4 to 6 MONTHS

  • Schedule fittings for custom-made bridesmaids gowns
  • Arrange marriage prep courses, if necessary
  • Reserve linen and other party rental items
  • Select and book decorator or wedding design – ask Martin Vo for more ideas
  • Finalize an A & B list of guests
  • Select and order invitations and other wedding stationery
  • Set date, time, and location for rehearsal dinner
  • Select and book a honeymoon night suite
  • Arrange accommodations for out-of-town guests
  • Start planning your honeymoon
  • Shop for your wedding gifts for each other
  • Shop for your wedding gifts for your wedding party
  • Shop for your wedding gifts for your parents
  • Buy shoes, lingerie, and accessories for the bride & bridesmaids
  • Select and order wedding bands

2 TO 4 MONTHS

  • Take engagement pictures with CineCrown Photography
  • Select and order the wedding cake
  • Order party favors
  • Select and order decorations
  • Purchase honeymoon attire & luggage
  • Select and book wedding day transportation
  • Start addressing your invitations
  • Plan activities for out-of-town guests (optional)
  • Go to trials and book wedding day hair & makeup
  • Send out your invitations
  • Select ceremony readers
  • Select ushers to seat your guests
  • Select guest book attendant
  • Select your MC
  • Mail invitations to the shower
  • Get a photography permit, if needed

6 TO 8 WEEKS

  • Record RSVPs and early wedding gifts
  • Record shower gifts and send thank-yous.
  • Purchase ceremony and reception accessories: guestbook, toasting glasses, ring pillow, etc.
  • Select and reserve groomsmen’s wedding attire
  • Mail invitations to rehearsal dinner
  • Plan bridesmaid luncheon
  • Select something old, new, borrowed, or blue

2 TO 6 WEEKS

  • Finalize all food and beverages for the wedding
  • Finalize all ceremony details with Officiant
  • Write or Select Vows – be creative and follow your theme
  • Finalize all rehearsal arrangements
  • Finalize all floral arrangements
  • Final fittings for yourself and your bridesmaids
  • Make a wedding day itinerary and give a copy to your wedding party and vendors
  • Finalize all details with all your vendors
  • Decide the order of receiving line and head table setting
  • Contact guests who haven’t replied
  • Pick up wedding rings
  • Visit the reception site for the floor plan and create a seating plan
  • Give musicians a list of your music selections
  • Inform attendants when and where to pick up attire
  • Print out seating cards

1 WEEK

  • Give the caterer/reception venue the final tally of guests
  • Pack for your honeymoon
  • Wrap reception favors
  • Arrange mail collection while you are on your honeymoon

REHEARSAL DINNER

  • Drop all wedding accessories and decor off at ceremony and reception locations
  • Make sure you bring all gifts that will be handed out at dinner
  • Make sure you have all final payments in envelopes for the wedding day
  • Pack an overnight bag for a honeymoon suite
  • Make sure the wedding party has their itinerary
  • Make sure the gentlemen have the right color socks
  • Review VIP seating with ushers at the ceremony location

WEDDING DAY!

  • Eat breakfast
  • Pack anything remaining on your “To Bring” list in cars
  • Make sure the Maid of Honor and Best Man have the rings
  • Make sure you have your marriage license, photo permit, and Special
  • Occasions Permit if needed
  • Put your engagement ring on your right hand
  • Remember to take a moment to enjoy the details of the day you planned so long and hard for
